As you all know at MIUSE we love to discover, share, and sell unique, kind of undiscovered beauty, fashion and lifestyle brands. Well, we are not the only ones who like to do that. Every year, LVMH (owner of LV, Fendi, Dior, Kenzo, Pucci, Givenchy, Loewe, Céline etc etc etc etc) hosts their LVMH Prize to discover and support ‘’new and undiscovered’’ fashion design talents. The ‘’undiscovered’’ part is something you have to take with a HUGE grain of salt since most of the nominated designers are already sold at department stores like Barney’s, Colette, Harvey Nichols, and Opening Ceremony. But let’s just say; it’s the idea that matters!

The jury chooses 8 final candidates out of thousands of designers that are still in the running for the €300.000 price. As if the money isn’t enough pressure on its own, LVMH decided to throw in some of the industries biggest names such as Karl Lagerfeld (Chanel & Fendi), Marc Jacobs (Marc Jacobs), Nicholas Ghesquière (Louis Vuitton), Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy), J.W. Anderson (Loewe), Phoebe Philo (Céline), Humberto Leon & Carol Lim (Kenzo), and Raf Simons (Dior) to make the final decision.

A few of my personal fave designers are Arthur Arbesser (top image). Arthur graduated from Central Saint Martins, has worked for Armani for 7 years, and was featured in Vogue Italy ‘’Who’s on Next’’. Another fave is Jacquemus (middle picture); designer Simon Porte is the only one in the list without an impressive resume. Yet that is. Jacquemus is a brand inspired by Simon’s mother, with deconstructed and super surprising designs. And last but definitely not least: Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh. Mister Abloh used to be Kanye West’s creative director, that alone kind of says it all. I was already a huge fan of the menswear collection (amazing jackets!!), but the womenswear collection might be even better! The winner is announced the end of May, we’ll keep you posted!
