PETRINA HICKS | THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING

image

As you probably know by now, we at Miuse love us some photography. And this new series by Petrina Hicks definitely caught our eye! Scary and calm at the same time, but oh so beautiful. The series is named after the book by the same title by Milan Kundera, and exudes a surreal and yet stylized image. Hicks herself says she uses “seductive and glossy language of commercial photography to create artworks that probe at the false promise of perfection, exploring photography’s ability to both create and corrupt the process of seduction and consumption.”

Well, we’re not sure what that means lady, but we love your work!
